Retreat: Healing From Institutional Betrayal
Join us for a day of healing and renewal!
Institutional betrayal (Smith & Freyd, 2014) happens when mission-driven institutions we depend on, including our workplaces, instead let us down. This kind of betrayal occurs when leaders gaslight or silence employees or the communities they serve, or otherwise engage in oppressive acts that feel dehumanizing. The purpose of this retreat is to create space for people who have experienced this kind of workplace harm so they can recognize the truth of their experience, engage in practices to restore a sense of dignity, and chart a purposeful course for themselves. Participants will learn about how liberation psychology praxis can inform a healthy way forward and will engage in self-reflection, journaling, and the creative expression of their choice including collaging and poetry. Participants will leave the retreat with a deeper appreciation of their personal and collective power, a set of liberatory practices to take with them, and an action plan to support courage and flourishing.
Your facilitators are Dr. Annmarie Caño, a licensed psychologist and executive coach of Annmarie Caño Coaching & Consulting, LLC and Judge Thomas Kearns, Founder of Humanize Success™ Consulting, LLC.
Participation is limited to 25 participants.
Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a journal or device for note-taking and lunch. Dress comfortably for the season.
Employees of non-profits can apply a discount code (NONPROF20) at checkout to receive $20 off.
